"Eivind is a Norwegian photographer with a keen eye for the arts and fashion. He’s been running his own company forom several years, in addition to delivering photographic services, he also teaches performing arts to youths. Being within a circus environment has influenced him and it reflects on the dramatic themes, contrast lighting and vivacious colours that his images exude. At London College of Fashion where he had get a BA in Fashion Photography. Prior to London he did a two-year foundation in fine art photography at The Oslo Photo Art School where he had a chance to immerse himself with the actual craftsmanship of photography. The students were only allowed to shoot on film and develop in the darkroom.
-How did you first become interested in photography?
I’ve always known I wanted to do something creative. I used to draw a lot when I was younger, but I didn’t really become interested in photography until I was thirteen when my father gave me his old video camera. Ever since my camera and I have been inseparable.
-Which words best describe your style of photography?
Colourful & vibrant? I always tell myself to tone it down a bit, but I never seem to be happy with my work until I’ve given it that extra kick of vibrancy. I am very much inspired by Guy Bourdin and William Eggleston’s iconic use of colours.
-If you were advising someone starting out in photography, what would your top tip be?
Don’t be afraid to experiment, stay away from auto functions, presets/actions and filters. Explore your camera and don’t be afraid to use yourself and friends as models.
-Do you have a dream project?
I would love to work with Cirque du Soleil once.
-What inspires you to create new work?
Mostly films, I’m a huge sci-fi geek.
-Is there a single photograph that you are most proud of?
I could probably say that I have one, but in a couple of months time after I’ve produced more work there will be new content taking over the old. But usually the images that I take most pride in are the ones where I’ve constructed a set from nothing to create something surreal and mystical.
-What was the best career advice you were ever given?
Stop comparing yourself to others all the time. Focus on your own work and how to develop a personal and unique style. Be inspired and then bring the elements of you into your work rather than recreating something that has already been done." - Seamless
Eivind is color, the freshness flavor and fragrance, intense and unique moments. Looks, poses and unusual objects from secular Norway to the dynamic London. All this, created by Eivind, to communicate his world and his point of view. His works capture the attention and every production is always recognizable, not confused with other photographers. I love his works, i confess that, and my suggestion is to follow Eivind by his socials accounts to appreciate next works.
